Beautiful Goodbye was started by our founder James 3 years ago.
I run a printing and design firm, so know printing like the back of my hand. 3 years ago one of my grandparents sadly passed away and I was involved with organising the funeral.
Whilst organising the funeral, I saw the order of service that the funeral directors were going to supply and wasn't happy with the look, feel or quality. For a relative that fought in WW2, I didn't feel what was being offered complimented the send off to a high enough standard - this was when Beautiful Goodbye was born.
I went on to design and print the order of services for the funeral and the feedback was tremendous. Many of the order of services went on to be framed and will always be cherished by my relatives. My copy sits proudly on a shelf in my lounge.
"A proper sendoff." - as my Nanny put it.
We started producing order of services for people local to our operation and all our sales purely came by word of mouth. I didn't want to make money out of people's sadness.
A year ago, another grandparent passed away and this time I wasn't involved in the funeral. The usual black and white A5 order of services were printed. Upon seeing these for the first time at the funeral, I was saddened that people see these as an acceptable send off for a relative.
This is when I decided to offer our order of services online to the public under the brand name of Beautiful Goodbye.
